"Commander Atkins." A shadow fell over her as she sat hunched and trembling on the sticky ground. "Status report on Specialist Commander Aderes."

Adelina didn't lift her head, only biting down hard on her lip to starve off the hysteria she could feel building. She tasted his blood there, from the last time she kissed him. When she bit harder, she tasted her own as well. It dribbled down her chin to splatter onto her body armor, to spread against the fabric and mix with his.

Specialist Commander Eve Aderes stared coldly down at her subordinate over the limp bloody form between them. "I'll not ask you again, Commander. What happened to him?"

"H-He..." Adelina's fingers spasmed into fists. Her voice was blank, slow. She was in shock. "Curse. He...took a curse that was aimed for m-me...Death was sl-slow..."

"I see. Your carelessness seems to have caused the fatality of not only a high-ranking member of the sacred Order of Aderes, but also the father of your bastard child." Eve did not spill a single tear as she studied the peaceful face of the man on the ground. "My brother always was a fool for you. Live with that, Commander Atkins. It was your love that killed him."

Eve turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Adelina to finally crumple and sob over her lost love.

Hmmm some color on this would rock. Perhaps a village in flames on the background... I don't know, stuff like that. It would make a very good picture.

I forgot to talk about the picture. :roll: I agree with ~Cross-Kaiser, Ms. Nemesis. A background and some color would do absolute wonders for this piece.
